About Amelia
Malaysia is multicultural with many ethnicities. I am a third generation Chinese born and live in Malaysia, with Mandarin as my first langauge (mothr tongue). I am surrounded with people and friends who could not speak, or speak a little Chinese but unable to read and write. I see their strugglez using the language and could understand where they are from (as I also speak write and read English and Malay as my second and thrid language). Therefore I am able to tailor my lessons to give them an easy starting point. A language is built on culture and history, and I love to also use ancient stories, proverbs and idioms to complement the learning. I am also a firm believer that langauge is for real use in a real life situation. My lessons enable you to use the language immediatly in your daily conversation.

Mandarin
Mandarin is not as difficult as you might think. Come learn with me, I teach you a different approach, with pinyin (pronunciation with romanized letters) and you will be able to start texting your friends in Chinese. Special shout out to those who speak the language at home but never had the opportunity to learn how to read or write Mandarin. I use the building block and story telling method to deliver the lessons, you will see your Chinese vocabulary compounding with each lesson. A typical lesson (for all levels) is 45 minutes via webcam. I welcome any nationality, anywhere in the world, to cyberspace as our classroom, and you learn to speak, write (type is more accurate) and read Mandarin with me, your Amelia Lao Shi (Teacher Amelia).
