About Bushara

I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting, working toward my CA qualification. I've done an internship at a tax accounting firm where I worked on tax returns, bank reconciliations, and financial statements, so I've actually used math in a professional setting, not just studied it.

I started tutoring because I remember what it felt like sitting in class, nodding along, then getting home and realizing I didn't actually understand any of it. A teacher or tutor who took the time to explain things properly made a huge difference for me, and I want to be that person for someone else.

Outside of study, I'm involved in community projects connecting Cambodian Australians, and I've traveled back to Cambodia recently, which keeps me grounded and reminds me why education matters so much for opportunity. Teaching math is something I genuinely enjoy, not just something I do on the side.

About the lesson

I focus on understanding, not memorization. Most students who struggle with math aren't lacking ability, they've usually just been taught the steps without ever being shown why those steps work. Once that gap is closed, formulas stop being things to memorize and become tools a student can apply confidently, including under exam pressure.

I'm currently studying Business (Accounting major) on the path to becoming a Chartered Accountant, and I use math daily in real accounting work, including reconciliations, financial statements, and problem-solving under deadlines. That practical background helps me connect classroom math to real applications, which makes the material easier to retain.

I adjust my approach to each student. Some benefit from slower, step-by-step instruction to build confidence. Others need more practice problems to reinforce a concept. Some simply want to understand the reasoning behind a method before moving forward, and I make time for that rather than rushing ahead.

I bring patience and a genuine focus on comprehension to every session. My priority is helping students build lasting understanding, not just short-term results for the next test.
