I am an LSE Sociology student with experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level students, helping them achieve top grades, including A*. My approach focuses on building both understanding and confidence, as I believe students perform best when they feel supported and capable.
In my lessons, I break down complex sociological theories and concepts into clear, manageable ideas, and focus heavily on applying them to exam questions. I guide students through essay structure, argument development, and how to use key theorists effectively, which are essential for achieving high marks.
I tailor each session to the individual student. For those who feel less confident, I take a step-by-step approach and create a supportive, low-pressure environment. For more advanced students, I introduce more challenging questions and focus on refining evaluation and critical thinking skills.
I also use active learning techniques, such as asking students to explain ideas in their own words and working through questions together, to ensure they fully understand the material rather than just memorising it.
Lessons typically last one hour, although I am flexible depending on the student’s needs. My tutoring is aimed at GCSE and A-Level Sociology students (ages 14–18) who want to improve their understanding, exam technique, and confidence.
