Mr. Hans Muer has been instructing my high school aged son in percussion for the better part of two years. In that time Cole has improved significantly in his playing. Cole's now one of two drumline group leaders in the marching band. As well he's been promoted to jazz ensemble from jazz lab. Cole's also now playing in a jazz combo. We're very thankful for Mr Muer's work with Cole that helped him achieve these musical goals and highly recommend him to other parents who are considering private percussion lessons for their students.

I mean, life-changing. Hans has been the absolute best thing to happen to our kid. Two years ago, my 11-year-old was interested in learning how to play the drums. I called Hans to set up a weekly lesson, even before we got a drum set. He started my son on a practice pad and, when Hans said he was ready, we bought him a drum set. Within 2 months, he had him playing an Aerosmith song for his school's talent show. And in the past 2 years, playing the drums has become my son's absolute passion. He can play by ear, across so many genres. Hans continues to teach him a broad variety of styles so he never gets bored. We're so grateful to keep these going, as school band wasn't initially challenging enough for him. Our lessons are primarily remote through Zoom, and that's been a successful path for us. We owe Hans our kid's future; thanks to Hans, our son will be a drummer for the rest of his life.

When my son was in middle school he started playing percussion in the school band. I told him if he practiced on his drum pad every day for a month I'd get him a percussion teacher. A month later my son began lessons with Hans.

Not only has Hans been foundational in helping my son learn the skills and art of percussion, he nurtured him on his path to become a percussionist. When my son was in 10th grade he made the decision to pursue percussion performance as a career. Hans was pivotal in helping us prepare for growing my son's abilities and knowledge about percussion - guided us for the things we needed to do in order for him to apply to college music programs. A musical mentor through-and-through.

In January my son was accepted into the Boston Conservatory at Berkley School of Music. We couldn't be more proud. And all of this wouldn't be possible without Hans.

I've worked with Hans for years, going from 7th grade up until now as I prepare to move out for college. In this time I really couldn't have asked for a better teacher to help me in my percussion journey. Throughout the years we worked on basic rudimental snare drum playing, rock and jazz drumset playing, and in more recent years, marimba. In all of these areas of teaching, Hans was excellent at introducing the concept in a digestible way that set my training apart from the rest of the pack. It was largely thanks to Hans' tutelage that I was accepted to the percussion program for the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and while working with Hans I've discovered more and more to love about both percussion , as well as music in general. No matter what you choose to work on with Hans, I have my full confidence that he will help you to be the best musician you can be in that area.
