About Samuel
Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Sam, a practicing Masters student in English literature and Creative writing with six years of academic study in literature of both the critical and creative context.
My experience in tutoring is based in workshop development, meaning that I am familiar with constructing a helpful and comfortable work environment where both myself and those in the class can learn and grow together.
After graduating my undergraduate studies, I realised that if the same methods and practices deployed in university classes were condensed and focused on one students needs that there was potential for substantial academic growth in a short period of time.
What makes these classes unique to you, is the ability to connect with someone who has a passion and experience in academia while remaining in a similar age group. This in my experience, provides an authentic connection between both student and teacher that is both beneficial and enjoyable.
My goal is to isolate an area of work where you feel there is a conversation to be had, a point of confusion or interest that requires council, and by employing some easily digestible mythologies we can navigate these topics to create an air of understanding and enthusiasm.

As a recent Bachelors graduate and current Masters student I am well aware of what makes the learning experience engaging, and what leaves you staring up at the clock watching the time slowly tick by...
By employing university teaching methodology and practises I am confident that students of any ability can have a meaningful learning experience that is both beneficial in the short and long term.
With the average time of a session lasting an hour, though this can be tailored to the needs of a student, there is plenty of time to employ tested learning techniques to benefit a range of literary work while remaining concise enough that everything can be easily recapped and remembered at the end of a session.
My confidence in success rests in the fact, that as a young practising student with experience in developing workshops, I can connect with those ranging in ability from Bachelors degree to GCSE providing advice and council that is likely to resonate with those of an age and demographic that is familiar.
