About Maya
At GCSE, I achieved a 6 in English Literature and a 7 in English language which are simply average grades. Due to this, at the beginning of A-Level English Literature I struggled greatly with writing essays and achieving grades I was proud of. However through the coaching I received from my teachers I was able to climb from a C grade to an A/A* range in less than a year. I want to be able to relay this coaching to other students who were in my position and allow them to reach their full potential as I was able to with help.

In my lessons, I would begin with a debrief of what issues need to be addressed and what topic they are in relation to, ensuring the root of the problem is adequately identified and able to be tackled using methods such as reading exemplar essays of an A/A* range (many of which will have been written by myself) to aid the process of becoming comfortable with different essay writing skills and techniques, alongside applying these skills to free essay planning and writing as well as timed essay planning and writing. I will be available to coach my students in thoroughly understanding the assessment objectives that need to be achieved and the manner in which to achieve them.
