About Ketia
Hi I am Ketia. I am an A level student in Biology,Chemistry and Maths. As a previous GCSE student, I know the importance of not only having good knowledge of the subject but being able to apply it to exam questions . Good exam technique comes from analysing the mark scheme and doing a variety of exam questions, however before this you need a strong knowledge base of the subject

My teaching style is to first check the student's knowledge and understanding of the subject, then teach them the topic and go through each process slowly (if they don't understand them) and use drawings and diagrams. Then I would give them different types of questions for that topic (for example graph analysis or explaining a procedure). For each exam question type (graph interpretation or explanation and so on) I will first go through with them in class. After I am sure they know how to properly answer that then I will give them similar questions to do at home (this is to save time during the class, but if the student wants me to go through any specific question with them, I can do that). To check they fully understand I would give them scenarios that they will not have learnt (it will not be on their specification) but ask them to solve it using their knowledge. This is very important as Exam Boards like AQA try to use scenarios that students have not learnt to check they actually understand the mechanism behind things.
