About Sarina

As someone who has such a passion and enjoyment of mathematics, teaching the subject to other students is very rewarding to me. However, like many other children, throughout primary school and even through GCSEs, there were many topics that were difficult for me to wrap my head around and which confused me. But, as I advanced towards year 11, I discovered that through a fun and interactive medium of learning, such as videos and fun activities, it is possible to enjoy maths and have a solid understanding of complex topics which previously seemed impossible to conquer. Hence why I make it a priority of mine to aid students' learning by engaging them with devices and concepts that appeal to them.

About the lesson

My maths lessons are aimed at children from the ages of 5 to 16 to help with the understanding of topics they struggle with, as well as topics that will supplement their current and future studies. Within my tutoring, I offer: general help for students working at a primary school level, preparation for the 11+ exams, or preparation for students working towards GCSEs. I completed my GCSEs with a grade 9 in higher tier mathematics, and am currently studying for A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science. In the past, I have mentored and tutored younger students in subjects such as Russian and Mathematics. Typically, each of my sessions is an hour long, but the session duration is flexible, depending on the student's needs.

I firmly believe that in helping a student understand certain concepts within specific subjects such as mathematics, it is essential to take on their unique perspective in order to maximise their knowledge and comprehension. I do this through my lessons by catering to students' preferred methods of learning, whether it be through visual aids such as videos, pictures, games, physical experiments, analogies, etc. or the conventional diagram and textbook explanations. My main goal is to ensure the lesson material is perfectly suitable for the student, making the content as simplified as possible for their ease of learning. I actively encourage students to ask me questions about anything they are not sure of, and am available at any time for any queries or questions they may have.

She makes you really think of how you would come up with the answer and is straight forward and to the point.
