I’ve known Matt for a year now through our MA Creative Writing program at the University of Roehampton. Matt is a very thoughtful listener and provides clear input, feedback, and guidance on other’s creative work. Matt is very approachable and listens to what others are looking to improve on in their writing. He does this by asking very thoughtful questions and providing writing advice that has helped him with his writing.
As a great coach he doesn’t answer the questions for you, instead he gets you thinking about different points of view and possibilities. His questions and feedback have helped me think of new ideas and perspectives to consider and incorporate in my writing. Through his trainings, he reminds us that anyone can be a writer and addresses the fears and imposter syndrome that every writer faces in their writing journey. He helped me connect back to why my stories matter and has encouraged me to keep writing because my stories need to come to life.
