About Joshua
I am a Sixth Form Student studying A Level Music, having gained GCSE Music A*.
I achieved Grade 8 Violin (Distinction) at age 13, and am working on Diploma level repertoire.
I have also achieved ABRSM Grade 5 Theory and am currently working towards ABRSM Grade 8 Theory. I have taught theory in groups and also individually, and am very familiar with the syllabus for both ABRSM and Trinity Theory exams. I can explain new topics, set work to be completed, and mark work with helpful feedback whilst guiding students towards their grade exams. I can also help assess the level of student and set appropriate work.
I have vast experience of attending Violin and Theory summer workshops, masterclasses, camps and institutes both in the the UK, Europe and the USA. I have played for a number of Youth orchestras, and also adult Amateur orchestras.
I am very familiar with both ABRSM and Trinity exam syllabuses for Violin and Theory, and have taught over 30 students who have gained either Merits or Distinctions at ABRSM or Trinity Grade 1-5 exams.
I have expreience of teaching both Violin and Theory online, and currently teach a number of students via Zoom, Skype and Facetime.

I am an enthusiastic Sixth Form student, who has spent over 13 years studying violin, piano and music theory. I've grown up in a musical family, and have more than 3 years of teaching experience teaching in my family's teaching studio. I have taught over 30+ students from age 4-16 years, who have gone on to gain Distinctions in ABRSM and Trinity exams.
I enjoy getting to know each student and adapting the lesson to each student's particular needs, and start a lesson by recapping the previous lesson or learning goals. We can then build on the student's knowledge at a speed that is suitable to them, using a number of teaching methodologies, activities and engaging educational games.
