About Nyambura
I am a student at the University of Essex with 3 months previous experience in academic mentoring of small groups of high school students (1-5 mentees) up to GCSE-level. I received an A* in Spanish at GCSE and a B in Spanish at A-level.

I am a language-learning enthusiast with a desire to help students develop their Spanish skills and confidence with the language. I am offering lessons for students up to GCSE-level.
I believe the key to success with learning Spanish comes down to a few things: a strong focus on grammar, dedication to developing an authentic sounding accent and comprehension/listening skills.
In order to learn a language, you have to become comfortable with actually using that language so my lessons will involve plenty of spoken practice. My method of teaching is based on the technique of active recall which is scientifically proven to be very effective. In practice, this could include things like regular vocabulary tests at the beginning of lessons, taking turns with the student(s) to ask and answer questions relating to the relevant topic, learning/practising verb conjugations and reading/writing practice.
