Mike was an engaging, easy to understand tutor when I was studying physics. He broke down complex concepts to do with physics and guided lots of independent revision sessions that were extremely useful. My confidence in physics at the beginning of my school year was extremely low and I was achieving E grades, but now, I'm feeling more confident in my knowledge and more sure of achieving the grade I need for University.

Mike gave me a few math lessons over the summer to help me come to terms with the Lagrangian method. Super helpful teacher, worked through it step by step, building from the basics. Very likable and easy to talk to. Thank you!

Mike was a tutor for me in Year 13 for Physics, which helped tremendously. I went from C/Ds in Year 12 to a high A in my Year 13 mocks. Closer to the time of my exams, he went through real past papers, and throughout Year 13, I would send him harder questions that I struggled with so that I never just got stuck. He helped me break questions down step by step. He would ask if I had any questions and if I struggled with any concepts or parts of a topic. His explanations for more difficult modules usually followed real-life examples, such as electricity, which, like many other students, I found very difficult. I would really recommend Mike for anyone struggling in Maths or Physics at any level, especially if you are having difficulty understanding the topic rather than just copying mark schemes. You need to try and understand the core of the question and the broader topic it relates to and he emphasised that.

Mike is an amazing tutor who explains things in the detail that you need to know. He always checks in if you have any questions often and is willing to focus on something with you for a longer time if needed. His methods of teaching are great and he will explain things in simple terms or in different ways if you don’t understand one way of explanation.

What I appreciate most is that Mike gives clear explanations and breakdowns of ideas and compares them to real-world examples, which helps me understand them.

After certain tests or mock exams might not have gone as planned, I was always able to send in the questions where I lost the most marks, and Mike was always willing to help straight away, which made me realise how important exam practice is as well as learning the content.

I know Mike from boost physics tutoring as I used to be one of his students and I can confidently say that he’s a really good tutor for a couple of reasons. Mike is an excellent tutor.
