About Hajar
Hello,
I'm a year 13 student, also an early applicant to Oxford and 3 other Russel group universities, with 2 conditional offers already.
I study Biology, Chemistry and English A level, with hopes to study Marine Biology/ Biochemistry at a degree level next year. I got grades equal to A*s in GCSE science, and I am predicted an A* in A level Biology. I have lots of experience with tutoring/mentoring, and also a lot of experience with young teens in general, as I have a very big family with younger siblings!
I understand the importance of being a good and patient tutor as during year 7-10 I was a grade 4-5 student, and with the help of a tutor I got mostly grade 9s and 8s with a couple of 7s.

Hi guys!
My name is Hajar, and I am currently in year 13 studying Biology, Chemistry and English. As a form prefect, I have my own form group of 25 year 8s, and I often help them with tutoring. I recap on the year 8 science curriculum in my own time and then planning fun form sessions that consists of interactive teaching and memorisation!
However, I believe my area of strength is GCSE combined science or triple science for Biology, as I mentor year 10s and 11s and I believe this is the age group I am best suited to.
I am available to work with foundation tier combined science biology too.
I am able to tutor during the evenings, and afternoons on a weekend, dependant on the tutees availability.
My preferred method of teaching is repetition and teaching the content back to me: I review the content with them, use whiteboard tutorials and images to help them understand clearer. We then move onto memorisation, often blurting several times until I feel satisfied with the memory progress. The third stage consists of me asking my tutee teach me the content this time, as I have discovered the best way to remember the content is to teach someone else. Once a good job has been done, we finally go over past paper questions and familiarise ourselves with how the specific exam board lays out questions and expects answers to be given.
