About Maria
Spanish High School and Certified Spanish DELE teacher. Native from Spain. More than 10 years of experience teaching Spanish to English native speakers in Spain, UK and Australia.
I have given individual private lessons to children, teenagers and adults as well as small groups of beginners and intermediate learners in Melbourne for almost two years. Some of them are still continuing to learn with me via Skype, specially those who are more advanced and want to keep improving their oral expression and reduce their accent.

My classes start always with 2 questions: Why do you want to learn Spanish? Is it your first time?
I would test the needs and interests of every student to give every each of them a tailored program. I believe that each student has the potential to achieve and I strive to be a strong advocate of that.
My classes are very entertaining and dynamic as I like to combine books, online resources, songs, videos, photocopies, games and other resources. I also try to discover which methodology works better for every student and I provide interesting vocabulary based on the students needs, interests, professional background or hobbies. Short stories, anecdotes and culture tips can also be a part of my lessons.
However I want you to learn, so I might ask you to do some tests or homework every once in a while to assess your progress and make sure that we are reaching the goals we set up.
