About Amanda
Hi! I’m Amanda, and I’ve been making images for 14 years. It feels like just yesterday I was sitting in a classroom wondering if photography meant anything to me. If you asked me then, I would have said no. I was a theater major chasing a hobby. My mentor inspired me to pursue said hobby. That hobby has now transformed into a career that allows me to connect with others in meaningful ways. That “hobby” ended up being why I aided the passage of a bill in California. I now call photography my lifeline, my anchor, and my portal.

In these personalized lessons, you will develop an understanding of how to make your tool, aka your camera, work for you. More importantly, you will learn to see light, feel light and energy, and sharpen your awareness to what surrounds you. My lessons will consist of collaborating on growth, creative photographic prompts and challenges, technical exercises and demos, lighting, and more.
Are you a beginner looking to learn how to use your brand new camera? A hobbyist looking to improve your skills and take the next step? Or do you want to get deeper into emotive storytelling and portraiture? I am excited to meet you where you’re at. In art and in life, we are forever learners if we allow ourselves to be open and receptive. I don’t believe art can be contained by one principle of thought. I do, however, believe that art is most successful when it invites the viewer to feel, think, and wonder.
I’d love to meet you on your photography path, wherever that may be.
