About David

안녕하세요! I’m a college student in the United States, and I spent most of my childhood growing up and attending school in Korea. I’d love to share the Korean language and culture I grew up with! I’ve also continued studying Korean in college, earning an A in an advanced Korean course.

As your tutor, my goal is to make learning Korean feel comfortable, enjoyable, and relevant to you. Whether you’re learning for travel, connecting with your roots, or simply exploring a new interest, we can work at your pace and focus on your goals. I want you to feel welcome to ask questions, make mistakes, and build confidence along the way.

I’d love to help you take your next step with Korean!

About the lesson

My lessons focus on Korean you can use in everyday life! Whether you want to order food, travel around Korea, or chat with Korean friends, we’ll practice useful expressions and natural conversations that connect to your interests.

A typical lesson will start with a short conversation, followed by learning a few new phrases and practicing them in realistic situations. We might role-play ordering at a café, meeting someone new, or making weekend plans. Along the way, I’ll help with pronunciation, explain grammar as it comes up, and offer feedback to help you improve.

I’m fluent in both Korean and English, so I can explain unfamiliar concepts in English whenever you need support. I’ll also share cultural tips, including when to use polite or casual language.

Whether you’re a beginner or looking for more speaking practice, we’ll work at your pace. You’ll have plenty of room to ask questions, make mistakes, and build confidence one conversation at a time!
