About Claude
I am a professionally-trained piano accordion player and have been playing the accordion for almost 40 years. I can read and write music and can teach music theory, sight-reading etc to any students who wish to learn. I can play many styles of accordion music including classical, French Musette, traditional Italian, German, Austrian, Swiss, Swedish and other continental accordion music. My own musical training included playing in accordion groups and orchestras, taking part in recordings such as the William Tell Overture, and regularly taking part in competitions, eisteddfods and the National Accordion Championships held by the Accordion Society of Australia. The Accordion is an amazingly versatile instrument which has been used by many bands and in film scores. I teach all levels from beginners to intermediate to professional and would love to gather a few students together to form an accordion group right here in Adelaide!

My teaching method in the first instance/early stages involves learning how to read music then moving on to practical performance. For students who wish to do so, they may take part in A.M.E.B. musical examinations (both theory and practical) and attain nationally-accredited qualifications which can be carried on to University/Conservatory levels of Music Study. For students who wish to do so, they may take part in local musical eistedffods and even national accordion championships. For those who wish to learn simply for enjoyment and pleasure, I encourage the formation of small to medium size accordion groups and am quite happy to have a student play along with me (duet style) at an actual live performance!

Details
Beginner rate is $30.00 per hour. Cancellations require 24 hours Notice if possible. Will travel 40KM maximum.
