About Dana

With K-culture becoming so popular, more and more of my friends started asking me to teach them Korean. As I helped them practice, they kept telling me, “You have a real gift for teaching!” That was my lightbulb moment. I realized how much I missed teaching—and how much I genuinely enjoy it.

Teaching has been a part of my life since I was 19. While I was in college, I tutored English in Korea, teaching everyone from 5-year-olds to working professionals in their 40s.

Since then, I’ve built a career in NYC as a fashion designer, working with major brands like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Recently, while taking a break from design to focus on raising my child, I’ve had the chance to reconnect with teaching.

I’m a natural conversationalist who genuinely loves connecting with people. My lessons focus on practical, everyday Korean—the kind you’ll actually hear and use in real life. I’ll help you build vocabulary, improve your pronunciation, and speak more naturally and confidently.

About the lesson

Hey there! I’m a Seoul native living in NYC.

My lessons are for anyone who wants to speak natural, real-life Korean, not the stiff, robotic sentences you get from old textbooks or AI.

Since I spend most of the class speaking in Korean, you’ll get full immersion! But don't worry if you get stuck, having lived in the US for many years, I’m completely bilingual and can easily break down tricky nuances in English whenever you need.

Over the years, I’ve taught everyone from 5-year-olds to adult professionals, so I know how to adjust to your personal speed and style.

**Warm-up (10 mins):** Quick catch-up in Korean to turn on your “Korean brain.”

**Today’s Topic (20 mins):** Conversation around a practical topic or real-life situation, with useful expressions you can actually use.

**Vocabulary & Review (20 mins):** Review homework and work on vocabulary, expressions, pronunciation, or grammar that needs a little extra practice.

**Wrap-up (10 mins):** Quick review, questions, and a plan for next week.

Intermediate/advanced learners who want to break through the plateau and speak like a local.

K-culture fans, travelers, or anyone wanting deeper conversations with Korean friends or partners.
