About Daniele

I’m a qualified Italian teacher and native speaker from Italy, currently teaching Italian in Australia across secondary, adult and private-learning settings.

I hold a Master of Teaching (Secondary) from Monash University, as well as a degree in Languages and Modern Cultures, completed in Italy with highest honours. My teaching experience includes Italian in secondary schools, adult language courses, private tuition and intensive programs for beginners.

I particularly enjoy working with adults who want to learn Italian for travel, family, relationships, work, personal interest or simply because they love the language and culture. I also work with secondary students who need structured support with grammar, writing, conversation and assessment preparation.

My lessons are personalised rather than based on a one-size-fits-all program. Depending on your goals, we can focus on conversation, pronunciation, grammar, listening, reading or writing, while always working towards actually using Italian with confidence.

I create much of my own teaching material and aim to explain grammar clearly without making lessons feel like a university lecture. I want students to understand how Italian works, but also to speak it, hear it and use it in realistic situations.

My private teaching is also part of Allora Australia, my developing Italian language and culture project created specifically for learners in Australia.

Whether you are starting from zero, returning to Italian after a long break, or looking for more targeted support, we can build the lessons around your level, interests and objectives.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, personalised and practical. Rather than following the same textbook from beginning to end with every student, I adapt each lesson to your level, goals, interests and learning style.

A typical lesson combines conversation, grammar, listening, pronunciation and vocabulary, with a clear focus on helping you actually use Italian rather than simply memorise rules. New language is introduced in context, explained clearly, and then practised through guided activities and increasingly natural communication.

I believe grammar is important — but it should make Italian easier to understand, not more intimidating. When we work on grammar, I break it down into manageable patterns and show you how it connects to the Italian you will hear and use in real life.

My private lessons are developed through Allora Australia, my Italian language and culture project created specifically with learners in Australia in mind. This means I often design and adapt my own materials rather than relying exclusively on standard textbooks, with the aim of making Italian more relevant, practical and connected to the learner’s own context.

Lessons can therefore be built around topics that are genuinely useful to you: travelling in Italy, speaking with family or a partner, everyday conversation, Italian culture, work, study, or simply developing greater confidence in the language.

For complete beginners, I provide plenty of structure and guidance so that you can start communicating from the very beginning. For students who already know some Italian, we identify gaps and gradually move towards more spontaneous and accurate communication.

Depending on your goals, lessons can include:

practical conversation and speaking confidence
grammar explained clearly and in context
pronunciation and listening practice
vocabulary for everyday situations
reading and writing
revision and consolidation
support for secondary-school Italian and assessments
intensive or short-term programs for specific goals

I want lessons to be challenging enough for you to make progress, but never unnecessarily overwhelming. You should leave each session understanding what you learned, why it works, and how to use it.
