About Olivia
I started my journey in Mandarin rather unexpectedly when I was placed in my second-choice language class in high school. I was quite nervous to start. Learning a new language can be daunting but learning a language with a completely different writing system- terrifying!! But once I started, I was hooked. Mandarin may be different, but I find it extremely accessible once you learn the basics. Outside of nearly 8 years of study, I've also done two study abroad programs in China. I really look forward to sharing my love of the language and culture witl learners at all levels!

For intermediate learners, I introduce more challenging materials and encourage practical application to boost confidence and proficiency. Advanced students benefit from in-depth discussions and nuanced language practice to refine their skills further.
By continuously monitoring progress and adapting my teaching methods, I create a supportive and dynamic learning environment that caters to every level of language ability.
