About Dan
I use Excel daily in a professional role and regularly teach colleagues how to use it with confidence — not just what buttons to click, but how Excel actually works.
I specialise in helping adults who:
Use Excel at work but feel behind
Have had training before but it didn’t “stick”
Want practical skills they can apply immediately
I’m patient, approachable, and happy to explain things more than once if needed. My aim is to create a relaxed learning environment where you can ask questions without feeling judged.
I’ve been told by learners that my teaching is clearer and more useful than paid Excel courses they’ve taken before. I focus on real workplace examples, plain English explanations, and going at a pace that suits you.
This is not academic Excel or over-complicated theory — it’s Excel you’ll actually use.

My lessons are practical, friendly, and focused on helping you feel confident using Excel in real situations — especially at work.
We’ll go at a pace that suits you, and I’ll explain things in plain English without jargon. You don’t need to have any prior knowledge beyond the basics, and you’re encouraged to ask questions at any point.
Lessons are usually structured like this:
Brief chat about what you want to learn or are struggling with
Clear explanation of the topic using real examples
Hands-on practice together
Time for questions and recap so it actually sticks
If you have a spreadsheet you’re currently working on, we can use that during the lesson so what you learn is immediately useful.
My aim isn’t just to show you what to do, but to help you understand why things work — so you’re not stuck again the next time something changes.
Most students find that even one or two lessons makes a big difference to their confidence.
