About Bharathi

My name is Bharathi and I am a working English professor with 24 years in the classroom. I hold an MA, an MPhil and a PhD in English, and I currently teach undergraduate and postgraduate students. Alongside this I take private classes for school and college students, working professionals, and research aspirants preparing for a PhD in English literature.

I became a teacher because English opened doors for me, and I have watched it do the same for my students: the shy child who starts answering in class, the college student who finally enjoys a poem, the professional who stops rehearsing every sentence before a meeting, the research scholar whose proposal finally gets accepted. That is still the reason I teach.

I am calm, thorough and honest with feedback. I do not rush through a syllabus, and I do not let mistakes pass without an explanation. Whether you are preparing for an exam, studying literature at university, working towards a PhD, or want to speak and write with more confidence at work, you will find me organized, punctual and genuinely invested in your progress.

About the lesson

I have taught English for 24 years, from school classrooms to postgraduate seminars, and I hold an MA, MPhil and PhD in English. My classes are for school students of all classes, undergraduate and postgraduate students of English, and working professionals who want to speak and write with confidence.

Every new student starts with a short diagnostic session so I can see where the gaps are: grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing or speaking. From that I build a plan for you, not a fixed syllabus.

A typical one-hour class has three parts. We begin with conversation or a short reading to warm up. Then I teach one concept clearly, with examples from real texts rather than textbook drills. The rest of the time is practice: you speak, you write, and I correct on the spot and explain why. You leave with a short assignment, and I review written work before the next class.

I am patient with beginners and demanding with exam candidates. School exams, board exams, university papers, IELTS writing and speaking, and workplace English all follow the same principle: understand the rule, use it, get corrected, repeat until it is natural.
