About Ifeoma
I am currently studying Law at King’s College London. I achieved 3 A*s and 1 A at A-Level (English literature, Drama, Global Perspectives and Religious Studies) and 6 A*s and 4 A’s in GCSE’s (English language-A* and English literature-A).
I have always had a passion for working with young people having done tutoring jobs, volunteering at primary schools and undertaking mentoring roles.
As a law student I spend a lot of time researching, reading and writing essays. I believe this is something that makes me well suited to this role as I have learnt techniques, from structure to grammar to even the way one can manipulate basic language to enhance their point, that I will be able to share with students.
English was my favourite subject all throughout my education, so much so that I have written a children’s book with the hopes of it being published and I’m currently writing my second book for adults.
All in all, I would love to be able to share my passion for words with English students and inspire them to not only develop their English skills but also enjoy the learning process which, evidently, enables them to do better!

Before teaching it is imperative to establish what specific goals a student is trying to achieve in their journey. Having done this, I will typically break down these goals into a series of objectives that, week by week, take the student closer to achieving their goal(s). Using a combination of written and oral tasks, games (depending on the age group) and mini tests along the way to ensure firm understanding of a topic, students are able to fully immerse themselves in the study of English, reach their goals and, most importantly, enjoy their sessions!
Regarding experience, I previously worked at Explore Learning, a tutoring center, for 10 months which developed my foundational skills in tutoring. I was also an academic mentor and peer mentor during my time in sixth form (2019-2020) which furthered my tutoring skills as well as skills relating to communicating with students well and building positive relationships.
Typically a session will last for an hour and my sessions are targeted towards children aged 8-15.
Recommendations
Recommendations are written by the tutor's friends, family, and acquaintances.
Ifeoma catered her teaching to my child’s needs, she made learning fun and has given my child confidence when learning new things. I would highly recommend Ifeoma.
Ifeoma is a very good friend and fellow student of mine. She is encouraging, perceptive and patient. I witnessed this firsthand while I worked alongside her assisting primary school children with their reading skills. She demonstrated the aforementioned qualities in every session and was willing to help each child regardless of their reading level.
Ifeoma was, and continues to be, an outstanding student who is aware of the nuances of the curriculum. During her academic career Ifeoma's writing has been exemplary, which is reflected in GCSE, A-Level and university grades. In Sixth Form specifically she consistently achieved high level marks, which enabled her to tutor younger students as to how they can incorporate higher levels of analysis and evaluation in their own writing. Ifeoma's style of tutoring includes clearly explaining what students can improve on in a conversational and personable manner, tailoring her advice to each student's needs.
Ifeoma is organised, reliable and consistent. Her leadership roles as a Prefect and as the president of the African and Caribbean Society in Sixth Form exemplify this. Therefore, she is more than capable of translating this into tutoring sessions to ensure that progress is made for each individual.
Her previous experience and admirable qualities show that Ifeoma can make a difference to the lives of those that choose her to be their tutor
