About Luke

I grew up in Sheffield before moving to Exeter for my undergrad studies which included a year placement in Barcelona working as a conversation assistant in a secondary school. After I graduated, I moved back to Spain, but this time to Madrid to complete my CELTA and work in a number of English teaching roles. Two years after that, I returned to Sheffield and carried out my PGCE in Post-16 Education and found work at The Manchester College, one of the largest further education institutions in Europe. In 2018, I returned home again, this time to complete my Masters in Education and Language with Distinction. I worked for a year at a further education college in Sheffield, before my wife and I decided to mover nearer to her family in South London. I worked for a summer at Imperial College London, before finding a long-term role at UCL, in their English Department.

About the lesson

I've been studying Spanish since I took it for GCSE twenty years ago and haven't stopped. From my undergraduate degree to my three years living in Spain, I've reached a high level of Spanish and a deep insight into how English-speakers can conquer this language best. I also hold a PGCE, CELTA and Masters in Education and Language, along with over 10 years' experience working in education.

I'm not a native speaker, and that might be your best choice if you're looking to perfect your Spanish at the most advanced levels. But, if you are a GCSE or A-level Spanish hoping to pass your exams, or an adult wanting to go beyond the basics whether that's on holiday or in business, I would be very happy to help you alcanzar un nivel más alto.
