About Federica

I am a native Italian with very good English and Spanish language skills and I would want to apply for the position of “Spanish teacher”.
I have a Bachelor’s and two Master’s degree in English and Spanish languages, literatures and translation.

I am really passionate about languages and, particularly, about teaching languages.
During the last year I attended some courses and took exams about teaching methods that allowed me to take a certificate in “Teaching Skills”. This courses gave me the possibility to learn something more about how to use the modern technology as a teaching method.
I have experience as a private tutor, teaching Italian to migrants and English and Spanish to Italian middle, upper and higher school students up to adults. As a private tutor, I usually:
• schedule and plan individual tutoring sessions for my students
• provide tuition that is appropriate for the individual's needs and study level
• prepare students for exams or tests required for acceptance to education or training opportunities
• use relevant tutoring methods and materials.

I am also a freelance translator, specialised in the audiovisual sector and with experience in translating documents in several sectors and video subtitles for several companies. Working as a translator really helped me acquiring organisational and marketing skills and improving my language skills.

About the lesson

My teaching method is the "Direct" one, also known as the Oral or Natural method. It’s based on the active involvement of the student in both speaking and listening to the new language in realistic everyday situations. The process consists of a gradual acquisition of grammatical structure and vocabulary. The learner is encouraged to think in the target language rather than translate. He or she hears and uses the language before seeing it written.
