About Hyunghee
Hi! I’m Christine Koo, a passionate and experienced Korean teacher who loves to help people. I graduated from Seoul National University of Education and worked as an elementary school teacher in Korea for 9 years. I also studied Educational Counseling and Christian Ministry in graduate school, which has helped me understand and support students more effectively. After moving to the U.S., I taught at a weekend Korean school for 6 years. Currently, I am a Korean language teacher at a private school in Maryland, teaching students of various ages and backgrounds. It brings me so much joy to see people around the world eager to learn Korean. I’m here to guide you every step of the way—whether you’re just starting with Hangul or aiming to master advanced Korean. I look forward to helping you enjoy learning Korean and reach your language goals!

Perfect! Hyunghee is so kind and she is an excellent teacher! In my first lesson, she checked to see what I already knew, asked about my goals, and was very patient as I slowly answered her questions in Korean. I look forward to our next lesson!
- Kristen, you have such a strong foundation in Korean. You read Korean with confidence, and your pronunciation is already very natural. It makes me so happy to see how enthusiastic you are about learning Korean. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to teach a student who is so eager and motivated to learn. I’m truly excited to see how much you will continue to grow!Hyunghee's response :
