About Lyndsay
One of the first things that I do as a teacher is have a conversation with the student to examine and investigate the dynamic preferred (conversational, questions to inspire pensive thinking and action, free writes, lectures, quizzes or no quizzes, test taking in general, collaborative writing and editing, etc.), time management and tasking skills and things they’d like to work on and so on in order to discuss the best path forward for our session(s) that the student will have the most opportunity to get into the work and download the new knowledge coming in throughout.
We can either discuss it for the first session to come up with a game plan that suits both of us, or I can prepare a questionnaire to send out prior and then we can discuss learning objectives, structure of session, strengths, weaknesses, and personal primary goals for our work together.

My goal in teaching has always been to find the thing that the student lights up while discussing or sharing with me as a means to ignite the familiarity with me as a teacher and opening the dialogue, creating space for exploration in sharing our passions, while also inspiring the student to recognize that almost anything can be that interesting once you start to dig in and find the pathway he/she/they are in touch with to make light of how that same path can be metaphorically drawn to exemplify the line of information for the new topic.
