About Jess
I have over 18 years of experience in early childhood education. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Instructional Design. I have been a kindergarten teacher for the past four years, and I truly love making learning fun and engaging. I want every student to feel comfortable asking for help and know that it is okay if they don’t understand something right away. My goal is to create a positive, supportive learning environment where students can build their skills and confidence while enjoying the learning process. I believe learning should be fun, encouraging, and never stressful!

My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and student-centered. I work with kindergarten and first-grade students to build foundational literacy skills, including letter recognition, letter sounds, phonics, blending and decoding, sight words, beginning reading, and comprehension. A typical lesson begins with a quick review, then practices a new skill through reading, hands-on activities, games, and repetition. I adjust my teaching methods to each student’s needs and learning style. What sets me apart is my patience, positive attitude, and focus on building both academic skills and confidence. I want students to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and developing a love of reading.
