About Padraic

Worked in metal welding and fabrication and repair for many years before deciding to go back to school. Just graduated from University of Wisconsin - Superior with a double major in mathematics and computer science. Spent 3 years studying electric engineering at TAU in Israel. I love computer architecture and have a big interest in quantum computing. Currently a fellow at Great Oaks Charter in NJ through AmeriCorps tutoring and mentoring students in mathematics and computer science.

About the lesson

I really enjoy the experience of teaching one on one, to try to figure out how to get the student to absorb as much information as possible. I find that it takes getting to know the student enough to be able to apply effective analogies. If a student is having a hard time understanding something, switching up the analogies seems to work well. Provided you can find one that the student can relate to. I can tutor in all math subjects encountered in a typical undergrad curriculum as well as number of computer science, physics/engineering and philosophy subjects as well.

Josh

I was Padraic's instructor for Probability. Additionally, I have had many conversations with him about mathematics, computer programming, and the teaching and learning of these subjects.

Padraic is enthusiastic and has excellent habits for writing and learning mathematics. Additionally, he is very extroverted and easy to talk with about homework, difficulties, and questions. I've heard personally from many students in classes with Padraic that he is helpful and excellent at answering questions.

I think Padraic is truly dedicated to deep understanding of material and quality instruction. I think he is trustworthy because he considers mathematics and computer science to be such important topics in modern society and knows that thorough understanding of these topics is crucial to personal success and well-being.
