About Mia
Hi, I’m Mia. I’m a recent HSC graduate and I’ll be studying a double degree in Education and Arts at ACU. I want to teach because I genuinely care about helping students feel capable, confident, and understood in their learning. I know how overwhelming school can feel, especially when pressure and expectations start to build, and I want to be the kind of teacher I would have valued myself, someone patient, encouraging, and clear. I love explaining things in ways that make sense, supporting students at their own pace, and helping them realize they are more capable than they think. Teaching, to me, isn’t just about content or marks; it’s about building confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belief that learning is something they can do and even enjoy. It has been a dream of mine to become a teacher since as long as I can remember, as a way to truly impact lives of children.

My personal approach to private tutoring is warm, student-centred and grounded in both recent HSC experience and my formal training in Education and Arts at ACU. Having just completed the HSC, I understand the current syllabus, marking criteria and pressures students face, which allows me to explain content clearly and in ways that genuinely make sense to them. I focus on building confidence first, then skills, using structured lessons, clear goals and regular feedback tailored to each student’s learning style. I also regularly assist younger siblings in primary school, which has strengthened my ability to adapt explanations for different ages and learning levels while keeping lessons engaging and supportive. I aim to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel safe to ask questions, develop independence, and build a positive attitude towards learning, giving parents confidence in both their child’s progress and wellbeing.
