About Emily
I have worked as a reporter/jouralist/ writer for a rural independednt newspaper, as well as edited novels by contract over the past two years.
My academic background is mainly in classical music and composition(Royal Conservatory of Canada) which I consider a transferable skill: one type of storytelling to another. I have also taught piano lessons for 5 years.
In the journalism field, I am currently working my way through a paid internship-style position.

My teaching philosophy is if you can do it, we can refine it.
Whether you're starting without so much as an outline but want to add "Creative Writing" as a skill on your resume or you're hoping to bring your novel to life, we can work together to plan a process that meets your needs.
Outlining, effective wording, first and third person perspective, characters, dialogue, and more will all be covered.
Assignments will be determined based off your goals, timeline, and availability.
