About Benji
I have years of experience teaching a variety of ages, abilities, and styles. I studied classical piano before being accepted for postgraduate study on the competitive jazz course at the Royal Academy of Music, London. I have experience as a performer giving classical recitals as well as doing jazz gigs, and have been fascinated by how people learn to make music for a long time.

My lessons are suitable for all levels, and are tailored to the needs of the individual student. Whether you want to learn the blues, Bach, or your favourite pop song - I can help you do it in a way that is varied and fun, but also rigorous.
I emphasise creative learning while also providing a thorough grounding in theory, ear training and technique so that you can build up your overall musicianship while learning whatever style of music you like. I try to keep my students' ears and minds engaged while learning, avoiding automatic, repetitive processes which suck the joy out of music-making.
Although I've been playing for a long time I can remember the feeling of being overwhelmed by the seemingly huge subject of music making - I can help make it easier!
