About Joshua Lok

I’m a Leeds Conservatoire graduate and ELAM alumni with a strong passion for drumming and music education. Jazz is my favourite genre, especially the UK scene with artists like Yussef Dayes, but I love exploring everything from jungle and DnB inspired by Jojo Mayer to Afrobeat legends like Fela Kuti. Teaching allows me to share this wide musical passion while helping students grow in confidence, creativity, and technique.

About the lesson

My lessons are fully tailored to each student, whether you’re a complete beginner or working towards Grades 1–8. I create personalised curricula based on your goals, preferred styles, and pace of learning. With a BA (Hons) in Jazz from Leeds Conservatoire and experience teaching at MCA, Anthem Music and Parkland Music UK, I focus on technique, musicality, and confidence building.
