About Patrick
I have tutored multiple age groups in multiple subjects, including Spanish, for over six years. I love learning so much that I studied the brain at Penn and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, then studied for two years at the NIH conducting cognitive neuroscience research. I am passionate about Spanish as an incoming med student who sees the importance of truly understanding Spanish. I am also an experienced meditator and have learned to expand my patience and non-judgment through this, as I want to make an inclusive and safe learning environment. I will ask you questions a lot to keep you engaged, in English and Spanish. We will use spaced-repetition flash cards to memorize vocabulary and grammar rules, as well as navigating comversations at a level appropriate for the student, encouraging them to “speak around” a word when they do not know/recall it. If the student is enrolled in a course, I will tailor the lesson to their course materials, with enriched explanations to build a comprehensive understanding of the language. I have experience with all ages, but mainly the middle and high school level.
