About Giovanni

I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Lettere Moderne
(Humanities) in 2012 from the Università di Padova (109/110 as a grade) and a Master of Arts in Filologia Moderna (Modern Philology) in 2015 from the same university (with distinction). In August 2017, I moved to the USA (University of Notre Dame) to begin a PhD program in Italian Studies. I obtained the PhD in July 2022 and then worked as the Assistant Director at the Center of Italian Studies from August 2022 to May 2023. During my six years in the US, I taught six Italian language and literature classes. For the first classes, I use English. Then, when I know the student can have a decently developed conversation in Italian, I try to avoid English as much as possible. Usually, my classes begin with a recap from the previous meeting, a thorough look at the theory of the new subject to learn, and finally exercises on that specific subject
