Italian Native Speaker (with a PhD in Philosophy) teaches Italian - in Birmingham

Giulia is an excellent teacher. She is a friend and a colleague (I am also in her field, and we have pursued our careers in parallel), and I have had many opportunities to see how she prepared classes, tutored, and helped students. I must say I have learned a lot from her about how to teach myself. Giulia is exactly the kind of tutor you would like to have as a philosophy student: knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and approachable. Teaching matters to Giulia because she enjoys it, which always comes through in her classes. It is clear that she most of all wants her students to get the skills to do work on their own. She is a well-organized person, who can help students not only with dealing with difficult subjects but also with the practice of doing research—and she leads by example. She is constantly tailoring her methods to her students' needs, and the outcomes she gets are great, which has led to her being recognized for her teaching excellence through awards, as well as peer and student feedback.
