About Grazia

Ciao a tutti!
I am a native Italian teacher and cultural anthropologist.

I have a degree in Sociology specializing in socio-anthropology and development at the La Sapienza University of Rome.
I have a Masters degree in Ethnographic Research, Anthropological Theory and Intercultural Relations at the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona.

I have always had a great curiosity for different languages and cultures. For this reason I consider my job as a teacher a very enriching experience professionally and personally. My education and work experience gained in the artistic, cultural and academic fields, both in Italy and abroad, are my "tools".

I have been teaching Italian for over 7 years to students from different countries and with different needs and goals. This has allowed me to develop a highly personalized and flexible teaching method. I always tell my students that “We are a team". In fact, I enjoy guiding and accompanying them in the learning process, motivating them and celebrating their linguistic victories.

About the lesson

My teaching method is mainly based on three factors:

Total Immersion. From the very first moment we will communicate exclusively in Italian (including hand gestures which are so dear to us Italians!).

Bilingual and Bicultural. A language is not only made up of words and grammar, it is a network of stories that connect all people who use it presently and have used it in the past. A language has within itself all the knowledge of a linguistic community. At the same time, culture cannot exist without a language to describe it. For this reason, I have chosen to teach using a two-way approach. The goal is to learn how to linguistically experience another culture and therefore learn how to use another language in a culturally effective and appropriate way.

Fun. This is the ingredient that absolutely cannot be overlooked! In class, you bring a smile, your curiosity and desire to learn and I’ll bring my experience!
