About Rossella
Ciao a te che mi leggi! My name is Rossella, and I’m a London-based writer, with an MA in Modern and Contemporary Literatures and Cultures from the University of York. My studies made me a natural champion of culture bridging – I regularly taught English to junior students during my university years, and I now very much enjoy giving Italian lessons to adult learners, as a way to pay a tribute to my culture, and cure a little bit of that inevitable homesickness! As a second-language speaker myself, I’m very much aware of the frustrations that come from desperately wanting to connect, and rejoice in the humour, the singularities and cultural nuances and aspects of a new language. This is the reason why I offer an organic and interactive approach, focusing on vocabulary, listening, reading, and speaking, to fully tap into the culture. Lessons will be prepared in advance based on the student’s particular needs and requests – for example, should there be a specific aspect of the culture that you’d like to explore, I’d be more than happy to design an ad-hoc learning path for you! I will provide the necessary materials and share them with you to revise, whenever possible. As a cinephile and avid reader, I’ll also try best to provide book and film recommendations, regularly slotting in sessions to discuss your reading and watchlist. (I’ll refrain from horror movies, mi fanno paura!)
