About Sonny

I’m an Irish folk singer-songwriter from Connemara who has worked as a professional musician for over ten years. I’ve been playing guitar and writing songs since my teenage years and began teaching guitar as a teenager. Having learned from several different guitar teachers myself, I understand how important it is to keep lessons enjoyable and engaging. This has strongly influenced how I teach, helping me adapt each lesson to suit the student’s interests and attention span. I work particularly well with children and beginners, and my goal is to help students feel confident and fall in love with music the way I did. A native Irish speaker, I also offer lessons through Irish (Gaeilge) for students or families who would like to learn music in the language.

About the lesson

My lessons are relaxed, encouraging and adapted to each student’s pace. I focus on building confidence, enjoyment and a genuine connection with music, rather than pressure or rigid exams.

Lessons are taught live online, one-to-one, and typically last 30 or 45 minutes depending on age and concentration levels. I work especially well with children, beginners and shy or sensitive learners, and I’m very patient with short attention spans.

Each lesson is kept simple, creative and supportive, helping students enjoy learning while steadily developing their skills.

Lessons are also available through Irish.
