About Ivy
I am from China and a native Chinese speaker. I graduated from the Chinese Department at a Normal University and hold an Internationally Certified Senior Chinese Language Teacher qualification. In teaching Chinese as a foreign language, I adopt a 'focused instruction + ample practice' approach. I encourage students to 'speak Chinese confidently' without fear of making mistakes, helping them embrace both the joys and challenges of learning. Through continuous practice and experiential growth, students steadily accumulate skills and elevate their practical language application abilities.

3. In a class with TOM, a beginner-level college student, I greeted him with "你好吗?" (How are you?). Instead of responding, he consistently replied "I don't know" to every prompt. To address this, I adapted my approach by:
A. Using 'visual aids' (e.g., pictures, real-world objects) and 'simplified language' to clarify meaning.
B. Creating 'interactive scenarios' or incorporating 'action-based demonstrations' to guide comprehension.
C. Encouraging gradual participation to build his confidence and foster engagement.
My goal was to create a supportive environment where TOM felt comfortable experimenting with the language and developing foundational skills.
