About Jon-Mykul

I'm a working actor currently in NYC, working mainly on stage as both an actor and sometimes stage manager/director. Before I did Musical Theater for a few years, then moved to NYC to study acting for stage and screen at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts - for both their 2 year program and Company third year. I also helped create and devise theater in New York. I've trained and worked as a professional actor for 10 years, and have been onstage for much more.

I love writing and music and travel, so feel free to ask anything about that! Passionate about acting and performance, and if you are too, or willing to explore, then let's get to playing!

About the lesson

Authenticity, understanding, play.

I pull from many different techniques for different challenges (Meisner, Uta Hagen, Laban, Alexander Technique etc.), so I'm fairly versatile in working in many different ways.

The best acting technique, in my opinion, is the one that works for you. My lessons depend on what the individual student is looking to achieve. But it will blend both imagination and technique so that you can go deeper in the work. As someone who worked hard to be an actor, I'm sensitive to people who might not be "gifted" or feel like it's natural - I go at your pace and try to make sure you understand. Any questions you have, I would love to dive in with you to find YOUR answer.

These lessons are for any college audition prep, monologue work, or just wanting to have a deeper sense of how to act. If you are really have a calling and want to explore acting, then this is for you.
