About Juan Jesus

I am an international educator specialising in project implementation and teacher training. I create and teach seminars on how to use the right methodology at different levels of the language learning process and age groups. I have so far learnt 6 languages fluently (Spanish, English, Italian, French, Portuguese and Chinese). Learning all these languages has provided me with a unique understanding on how language takes shape in our brains. I have now developed the intuition to know which words are essential to know at the beginning of the process to be able to articulate abstract ideas and actions that you need to know to communicate with native speakers. Being a polyglot has opened me many doors, allowing me to live and work in many countries teaching Spanish. However, the most significant aspect of my teaching is how embedded it is with culture, traditions and the reasoning behind communication.

About the lesson

As someone that has struggled to learn 6 different languages, I know how overcomplicated learning a language can be. I am now an educational project coordinator implementing methodology and training teachers to be efficient in the language teaching process. I have developed a unique style of teaching that combines a strong emphasis on oral communication and grammar. By teaching you very simple, yet useful, grammar structures, together with constant oral practice during the lesson… It is guaranteed that at the end of the session you will be able to speak an ever-increasing amount of sentences. I usually divide my lessons so we go through all aspects of the language learning process: reading, listening, grammar, speaking and vocabulary. My lessons last 1h30 mins. With a 5 minutes break in between. 1) During the first half I produce all the active language learning, I introduce the new grammar structures, vocabulary and texts. 2) During the second time of the lessons we will repeat out loud everything we have learnt, through fast and constant repetition. By the end of the session you will have memorised everything without even realising. I will also always provide a 5 minutes audiovisual material for you to dive deep into culture through videos, songs or memes. I will create specific exercises for you to complete at home, however, I won't be correcting or addressing those during teaching hours. I will separately email you your results with specific feedback by email, that way during the lessons we will be focusing exclusively on learning and practising. During my lessons (even if you are a very serious middle-aged student) I will be using games and interactive dynamics that will ensure that you learn the language the same way that babies do: through assimilation rather than by memorising. However, it is equally important for me to not only show you the language but also the culture that comes with it. My lessons will be specifically designed for you, carefully choosing the vocabulary and topics that spark your curiosity. This way, you will be able to engage with both, the culture and language, and progress on your own. My end goal is for you to be able to learn without me. I have been teaching Spanish for over 9 years in the UK, China and India. My success rate relies on the fact that all my students advance significantly their communication skills after every new lesson. Learning a language is extremely rewarding and can be very easy, given that you follow the right methodology. Join me on a lesson, and find out. Before taking classes with JJ, I never really dared to speak Spanish. I had worked with so many tutors before, but none of them managed to get me to actually use what I was learning in everyday situations. JJ changed that completely!! I CANNOT recommend him enough. His classes were fun, interactive, and always well-prepared, and he took the time to make sure I truly understood how the language works so I could feel more comfortable speaking. He’s incredibly patient and attentive—he quickly picked up on my weaknesses and tailored the lessons to help me improve in the areas I struggled with most. He explains things in a super clear and practical way, making you speak and understand the language in a very easy way.
