About Arooj
Hi there! I’m Arooj, a Microbiology undergraduate at LUMS. Let’s be completely honest: advanced biology can sometimes feel like trying to read a textbook written in an alien language while drowning in an ocean of flashcards. I have been exactly where you are, staring at a mountain of metabolic pathways wondering why there are so many steps!
But here’s the fun part: once you learn how to connect the dots, biology stops being about brutal memorization and turns into an incredible, logical puzzle. I fell so deep into this rabbit hole that I ended up achieving an FSc Pre-Medical score of 93.8%, placing 2nd nationwide in the NBTC 21 competition, and competing globally as a national finalist in the International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2025).
I chose to teach because I absolutely love that "aha!" moment when a complex, terrifying concept suddenly clicks for a student. I don’t want to be a rigid, lecturing professor; I want to be the mentor and academic ally I wish I had when I was navigating AP, IB, A-Levels, and Olympiad prep. When I'm not diving into microbial genetics or tutoring, you'll usually find me lost in classical Urdu and Persian poetry—so I promise I know a thing or two about making deep, complex ideas beautiful and easy to understand.
