About Elif
Hello! My name is Elif, and I am a dedicated International Baccalaureate (IB) student with a passion for helping learners reach their full academic potential.
Navigating a rigorous academic program has given me a deep understanding of subject mastery, time management, and effective study habits. Beyond my own studies, I bring hands-on experience as a 1-on-1 tutor and Youth Mentor Leader. My Approach & Methodology
My name is Elif, and my goal as an English tutor is to make reading, writing, and language arts approachable and engaging. Having navigated the rigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, I focus on clear, step-by-step frameworks rather than confusing grammar rules. I teach students how to organize their thoughts, analyze texts critically, and construct strong, well-structured essays and paragraphs. By breaking down complex writing concepts into manageable steps, I help students build genuine confidence in their communication skills.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each 60-minute session is tailored to the student's specific goals and daily needs:
First 10 Minutes (Warm-Up & Goals): We review previous material or current homework requirements and set clear objectives for the session.
Next 25 Minutes (Core Skill Focus): We dive into targeted instruction—such as analyzing a reading passage, learning active vocabulary, mastering thesis statements, or refining grammar.
Next 15 Minutes (Guided Practice): The student applies the new skill directly through guided writing or reading exercises, receiving immediate, constructive feedback.
Final 10 Minutes (Wrap-Up & Review): We summarize key takeaways, review actionable study tips, and outline next steps for schoolwork.

Elementary & Middle School Students (Grades 1–8): Focus on foundational reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary expansion, and basic essay structure.
