Hi, I'm Devesh! I'm an engineering student at Imperial College London and I teach maths, physics and coding to students up to Year 9.
Who the lessons are for:
My lessons are for primary and secondary students aged roughly 8 to 14 (KS2 and KS3, up to Year 9). Whether your child is struggling and needs to catch up, wants to feel more confident in class, or is ahead and wants a challenge, I adapt each lesson to them. I also welcome complete beginners who want to try coding for the first time.
My approach and teaching methods:
First lesson: I find out what your child already knows, where they get stuck, and what their goals are, so I can plan lessons around them.
Step by step: I break difficult topics into small, simple steps and only move on once the student is confident.
Real-world examples: As someone who designs computer chips, I love showing students how maths and physics are used in the technology around them, from phones to electric cars. This makes topics feel useful rather than abstract.
Visual and hands-on: I use drawings, diagrams, simple experiments and interactive tools to explain ideas, especially in physics.
Learning by doing: In coding lessons, students build small projects like games, quizzes and calculators in Scratch or Python, learning logic and problem solving along the way.
Practice and feedback: Each lesson ends with practice questions, and I set short exercises between lessons. I keep parents updated on progress.
Patience and encouragement: I want students to enjoy learning and never feel afraid to ask questions.
