About Soumya
I am an IB and IGCSE-focused algebra tutor helping students turn algebra from a stress point into a strong scoring area.
I am experienced with international-school students who struggle with symbols, multi-step questions, word problems, and time pressure in math exams.
My strong focus on building clean algebraic habits: showing steps, organizing work, checking answers logically
I aim for clear explanations, patient doubt-solving, and make sure that students can explain “why”, not just “how”
I use regular quizzes, past-paper style questions, and progress tracking so students and parents can clearly see improvement toward target grades.
The goal is simple: make IB/IGCSE algebra solid, predictable, and high-scoring so students feel confident walking into school exams and ready for advanced math later.
I am based out of Mumbai, India and I take classes in online mode only.

Algebra classes are designed specifically for IB and IGCSE Grade 9–10 students who need strong concepts and exam-focused practice.
Lessons move from fundamentals to challenging problems with a clear structure: concept → example → guided practice → timed questions.
Syllabus fit: linear and quadratic equations, inequalities, simultaneous equations, functions, graphs, factorization, polynomials, sequences, and word problems
Board alignment: mapped to IB MYP/DP entry and Cambridge IGCSE expectations so school topics and assessments are directly supported
Method: short concept recap, step-by-step worked examples, then mixed problem sets (standard + tricky) to build both accuracy and confidence
Customization: each student’s plan is tailored to their school syllabus, recent tests, and target grade
Every session ends with a quick recap, 5–10 targeted questions for homework, and a clear note on common mistakes to avoid in the next test.
