About Cristina

I love teaching and learning! So much so that I have been a post-secondary student for nearly 10 years. In that time I have been a teaching assistant for many biology and genetics courses, as well as a course instructor for fourth year university students. I am very organized and work with technology frequently. As a PhD student I keep up to date with new research and publications in the human genetics field and am constantly looking for ways to help others improve their scientific literacy.

About the lesson

Students are in the driver’s seat for all my lessons! Sessions are most successful when you bring me the questions and topics you would like covered. I draw on my experiences as a university teaching assistant and course instructor to support and provide resources so that you can understand your academic material and achieve success.

Lessons are best suited for intermediate students, high school students, and university students. I cover topics in science, biology (genetics, genomics and evolution) statistics, shell scripting, bioinformatics, scientific writing, and scholarship/graduate school applications.
