About Zoha

Hi!

I’m a HSC graduate (School DUX) currently undertaking a Bachelor of Medical & Health Sciences degree.

I specialise in helping students improve their exam performance in HSC English and Science subjects by focusing on what actually matters in assessments: clear structure, strong argumentation, and a deep understanding of how marks are awarded.

Rather than just going through content, I teach students how to:

- Structure high-scoring essays and responses
- Interpret and target marking criteria
- Write with clarity, confidence, and precision under exam conditions
- Avoid common mistakes that cost marks

My approach is highly practical and exam-focused. As a recent HSC student, I understand exactly what examiners are looking for and how to translate content knowledge into Band 6 responses.

I achieved strong results across my subjects, including Band 6 in English Advanced (93), English Extension 2 (48/50), Biology (95), and Physics (90 internals), and I use this experience to help students build both confidence and consistency in their performance.

About the lesson

My lessons are highly personalised to each student. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, so every lesson is carefully tailored to target the student's specific strengths, weaknesses, and goals.

I provide access to comprehensive notes, sample responses, and a wide range of textbook and HSC-style questions, all drawn from my own experience as a recent HSC student. My aim is not just to teach content, but to help you feel confident, capable, and in control of your learning.

HSC English Advanced:

Throughout my English journey I have studied:
- The Tempest (Shakespeare)
- Hamlet (Shakespeare)
- Othello (Shakespeare)
- Macbeth (Shakespeare)
- Romeo & Juliet (Shakespeare)
- King Richard (Shakespeare)
- Cold Enough for Snow (Jessica Au)
- The Crucible (Arthur Miller)
- T. S. Eliot's Selected Poetry
- Emily Dickinson's Poetry
- Hag-Seed (Margaret Atwood)
- The Great Gatsby (F. Scott Fitzgerald)
- And many, many more!

I can provide detailed, text-specific support for these texts, but more importantly, I can help you master essay writing (structure, clarity, sophistication), short answer responses, creative writing, and exam technique regardless of text. If I haven’t studied or encountered your prescribed text before, I’ll also take the time to familiarise myself thoroughly with it so that my guidance is accurate, and relevant.

HSC Biology:

I combine clear explanations of complex content with a strong focus on exam technique, because I know from experience that the content itself only makes up 50% of the marks.

My explanations are guided by visual representations and syllabus based notes, so you know for certain that you're not missing out on any essential information. I adopt an active learning approach, where I constantly ask questions and require you to write your own notes throughout the lesson . This ensure that you're not just listening, but also learning.

Lessons include:
- Breaking down difficult concepts into understandable ideas
- Working through HSC-style questions
- Learning how to structure answers for maximum marks
- Access to detailed notes and sample responses

Years 7–10:

I offer support in English and Science, focusing on building strong foundations and confidence early on.

- English: essay writing, creative writing, and analytical skills
- Science: step-by-step problem solving, understanding concepts (not just memorizing), and building accuracy

I also provide assessment task and homework support to help students feel prepared and less stressed.

Rates:
English (Adv, Ext 1 & 2): $70/hr
Biology: $70/hr
Years 7–10: $65/hr

Group Tutoring (2+ students): $45 /student / hr

Essay marking and written feedback for $30 per essay. This is ideal for students who require detailed feedback and HSC-style marking, but don't want to book a lesson.

I’m looking forward to working with you and helping you achieve your best results!

I highly recommend Zoha as a tutor! She is a very organised, knowledgeable and supportive tutor who also gives exam and study advice to best prepare students.

I was in need of a tutor to help my HSC English and she guided me through essay writing, helping me draft essays that tick all marking criteria requirements.

She is also an excellent physics tutor, explaining concepts logically and prioritising deep understanding over memorisation. She breaks down calculations step by step and exposes you to a range of questions to prepare you for anything in the exam.
