About Sarahlynn
I am a Canadian who's lived in the UK for ten years! When I'm not working, you can find me curled up with a good book or outside chasing after my gorgeous pup. I love trees, the water and being in nature. In the summer of 2023 I had the wonderful opportunity of driving from Vancouver to Ontario, and then Ontario to Newfoundland. I'm excited to use the real photos to inspire creative writing. I have also kept note of some of the receipts which can be a fun way to explore various maths concepts. I'm passionate about mental health and teaching others how to handle stress and anxiety effectively - especially when it is related to school studies.

My sessions are designed with the student in mind. All sessions are tailored to suit the student's goals, learning processes, and interests. We work online in an interactive and private learning environment. The student has the ability to annotate our board, click buttons, create sticky notes for reminders, and to practise their organisational skills. This space does not disappear post-lesson. Instead, the student is encouraged to return to it while working independently so it works as a notebook of support. In our lessons we will also focus on student wellbeing. This will take both implicit and explicit teaching. From box breathing to understanding how and why we feel anxious; my sessions focus on supporting the student's development of emotional literacy and regulation so they can feel confident across all subjects and all obstacles. I call upon my 5-year teaching degree, my 4-year Bachelor of Arts honours degree, and my experience as a classroom teacher to present sessions that are engaging, inspiring, and effective.
