About Amelia
I first began giving lessons in September of 2017, though I have been helping classmates all through my schooling. In September of 2017, I began tutoring a 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl in math, as well as science, English, social studies, and Spanish. The boy's grades showed much improvement, especially in his math and Spanish classes. The girl's grades were satisfactory to start with, but she felt much more confident with the material and achieved high scores on all her assignments after my instruction.

I am a college student currently working towards a Bachelor's of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering. I took three years of Spanish in high school, and received a letter grade of A in all six semesters. For vocabulary, I like to read out either the English or the Spanish word (the choice is up to the student) and have the student tell me the translation. For reading comprehension, I think it best to have the student read a passage a try to tell me, sentence by sentence, what it means, and it they have trouble with that, we'll break the sentences down word-for-word. Once reading is down, writing should soon follow, and I can always be an editor for the student.
